I am looking for a humanities elective that I can take for two terms with an essay component. Anything interesting or fun?
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions

Pretty much any English, Philosophy, or Religious Studies course.
and a lot of those courses don't have prerequisites.
Just make sure you check out who the profs teaching the courses are beforehand, some profs can ruin a very good course.
p.s.. the asian religions courses are actually really interesting! and if you have Joe Larose as your prof, you will love it, guaranteed!

English 1CS3 is a humanities elective with an essay component. There are a wide variety of topics you'll cover, so I'm sure you'll find something that will interest you. Although I didn't do that well in the course, I've heard that it's one of the more interesting English courses.
I have taken every first year English class and I personally like Shorter Genres best. There are two short essays, the reading is light and the material covered is broad. It's a really good class! 1CS3 is cultural studies, so you'll learn a lot of cultural terminology. It's not traditional English.

What about philosophy 2zz3? Has anyone taken this course before? It seems interesting. How is Dr. Ennns?

im taking that this year..
it does look interesting, and in philosophy 1a03, we read a bit of the symposium, and I actually got pretty into it.
I say give it a shot
if it's a bad course, we'll be on the same boat
