I have no clue. however, I don't think it's prudent to get philosophical over why racial stereotypes are accepted or not.

I only read like the first 3 lines of the OP...but normally when I did really well and someone else did bad I usually dont want to tell them my mark because it'll make them feel bad even if they ask i just say dont worry about it i guess i'm just being nice

I think it's ironic that a topic about hypocracy has turned into racial profiling.

theres a whole history behind it.
Calling someone yellow has a lot more negative connotations than calling someone brown.

I do the same thing. Or if someone did well and is really proud, but I did better.

I normally just don't tell people my grade. It's not really any of their business. If someone asks how I did, I normally respond with, "Better than what I expect," or something vague like that which covers how I feel about the grade without saying what it actually is.

Lol @ this.

How about people being so insecure about their marks they have to ask how everyone else did, and someone trying to be nice/modest doesn't want to say they did okay, so they say they didn't do very well.

Then the insecure person continues pressing them until they finally give up and say they got 90%, insecure guy gets upset, makes thread on MI.

Does that sound reasonable? Or likely?

I think so.

It probably happened to you.

And good job type-casting an entire continent of people, no wonder you guys are the ones who complain about other people's marks.

You can never study 'enough' in University, so when people say they didn't really study, that means they weren't able to prepare enough for their liking.

It doesn't mean they haven't gone to the lectures, or done ANY homework in the last 3 months, regardless of how it sounds.

Yeah, it's a stupid way of saying it, but no one literally means they studied 0 minutes for an exam.

If they actually do mean that, then you're right, and I agree, they're probably lying and they're annoying as hell.

Wait till you get to professional school, where no one even asks how people do anymore. Let alone discussing percentages, they generally don't even bother asking "how'd you do?" or "what did you think?" because they're secure enough in their own abilities at that point.

No, I don't, but judging from your atrocious typing I can guess.
