Took this course with Hayden King in Fall 2009-2010.

This course is apparently very similar to the introductory Indigenous Studies classes (1A03 and 1AA3); the course is considered to be equivalent to the two combined.

If you have taken either of the two above Indig courses, it will be a review for you. Some topics covered: pre-contact histories, history from Contact to the present, Indian Act, Residential Schools, Self Governance Frameworks, conflicts (Oka, Caledonia, Ipperwash etc), Treaties.
