Informal review?
Hey
I was looking at the reviews on here, and didn't see one for Psych 2B03 (personality)... has anyone taken this course that could give a brief comment on it?

Thanks!

Psych 2B03 is taught by Dr. Day. He is awesome! The course itself is interesting but can get dry at times as well.

As an overview it covers: The psychodynamic approach (mostly Freud and some other theorists), it also covers the Humanists, Cognitive/Behavioural approaches to personality, the triat approach and finally biological approaches

Overall it looks at different theories of how personalities arise.

There are 2 tests, each worth 30% of your mark and they consist of 40 MC questions each. Dr. Day has a database of questions from which he draws the test questions. He has these on the course website in the form of an online quiz which gives you feedback. These will save your life. Make sure you know them and know them well...but as he says, do not use them as a study guide!

Also...the dreaded textbook...approximat ely 10% of the questions on the test and exams come from the textbook. on average per midterm you will need to read ~3 lengthy textbook chapters. This tends to be a pain.

Other things:

-exam - 80MC
-course handbook - SO helpful, contains basically everything he says in lecture word for word, allows you to go to class and just listen
-lecture recordings - posted daily on the website, so if you miss a class, you have the recordings available

overall: highly recommended course
