Review?
Do Profs spend the first week or two reviewing stuff that we should know from gr.12 or are we expected to do that ourselves. I'm speaking more specifically about science courses, but other students in other classes can speak too!

Joey says thanks to lampk for this post.

There is a lot of review (I'm speaking generally), but the amount of review and the amount of new material varies on how much your high school taught you. Some teach much better than others, so you will know more than other students.

I agree with Danielle. In all of the science first year courses, there was tons of review at first. They want to make sure everyone understands it from scratch. For chem for example, they will go over the periodic table and what each thing means, from atomic number to the alkali metals. Students who did well in grade 12 high school will find the first classes really easy. Eventually they start getting into new stuff, but not for a while. I found most of the science courses in first year not to have many new concepts from grade 12.

I've never reviewed in the Summer and I still found it all came back pretty easily. I've never taken physics in University so I wouldn't know.
