They don't provide some of the plans in Hamilton because of the infrastructure, I think most people I knew had to use the dry loop with teksavvy.

You don't need a landline for cable internet as well. I'll call them up and ask if they provide cable internet where I live otherwise I'll have to go with the dry loop.

From my understanding it's because Cogeco has been a real pain in the ass and not cooperating with Teksavvy...
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r254...n-Cogeco-land-

Also from one of the TSI reps:

"Unfortunately Cogeco is difficult to work with and they refuse to provide us with backhaul from their locations of interconnect so as a result we can't offer their services unless we have fibre right to their location, which we dont have. the only place we do have that is in chatham... so, for now, there's no service we can offer in hamilton and we will look into it again but for now and the foreseeable future there's nothing coming."

:'(

Anyways IF you can get Teksavvy in your area then go with them for sure! The cap alone is worth it!!

Yeah I called like 2 days ago and they don't have cable internet in Hamilton. Slamhang and 2networkit both seem like resellers of TekSavvy and both have cable internet available in Hamilton via the Rogers lines apparently. Does anyone know of either company?

TekSavvy is trying to get cable permission from Cogeco to resell, but Cogeco is being stubborn, thats why most of cogeco-cable land doesnt have TekSavvy Cable...

DSL is good enough for now... 5mbps 300gb cap 35bucks with tax.. why not

Just get one of your friends in residence to run an ethernet cable out of his/her window to your house and leech off of the McMaster internet.

That's how most people do it...
