If I remember correctly,

You just need to do a one-time sign-in thing when you open up your browser. After that you could just surf whenever you want with that computer..

But you'll have to do again it for each computer you use (if you bring multiple computers/laptops to res) or if you reformat your computer.

Or if you're in Les Prince, the ethernet cable is already hooked up in your room

If you are connecting to MacConnect then when you open your browser it should redirect to a log-in page where you log-in via your MacID and Password.

How do we find out our room phone numbers?
Do we have to sign up or fill out an agreement before we are able to use the phones?

It should be in your residence information online (where you find your room). It's a 5 digit extension number from McMaster's phone number. It's also found on your phone.

You can use your phone immediately for local calls, if you want to make long-distance calls you have to set that up. They give you all the information to do so. But I recommend buying calling cards or using an "online" calling card (xpresscall) or using the internet (Skype, Google Voice, MSN, etc...)
