I'm having problems with my downloading speed off the internet. Usually I can only get around 25-40kbps directly downloading off sites like microsoft.com or download.com. Is it supposed to be this slow? I definately don't reach my download limit every day (especially at THAT speed). I use DC++ fine and get around 1.5mbps.

I'm currently using wireless internet and a d-link router. Not that I know if that relates to me directly downloading from sites or not.

Am I supposed to be able to download faster? Thanks for your help!

They allow router in Res. now? That was quite good.

From my past experience in res., your download speed is largely depended on time of the day and how many other people are downloading. Because the bandwidth to outside world from mac is fixed, so more people use it the slower.

In some rare case, we once downloaded too much and causing our whole res building network to be banned. For 2 days everyone in our building was downloading with <20k speed.

Wait, are we allowed to use Wireless internet (if someone brings a router) at rez? that'd be sick!
