iPad 2
Who else is excited about this?

Engaget have some very nice video if you follow the link..

http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/02/i...irst-hands-on/

Apples sure know how to advertise. I can't stop watching the video for its Smart Cover. Like what the heck? Its just a cover! Yet the video is so engaging for some reason. With that little "clip clip" sound.

I wonder if I'm going to receive the iPad 2 or 1 from the NSSE Survey.

Specs does not list one.

Why do you need the USB port? If its for cameras then Apples has an adapter for it.

Spec wise the ipad is excellent, other than the non retina display, however I wont be buying one simply because I'm not a fan of IOS. I prefer blackberries playbook with its real time multi tasking, native hdmi output and flash support.

As for the survey prizes, it's likely they had them before the contest started, and therefore it's going to be an ipad 1. Furthermore, it going to be mine! I don't care that we have the same statistical chance of winning it, you're going down.

I have an android phone, and a windows computer, but I have always liked the iPad. I just never saw myself owning one. Now that it has specs that level with everything else, a good price point, and things like Garage Band and iMovie, I'm liking it more and more. I may have to pick up a WiFi version once I get a job in the summer hahaha

I mostly want it for movies and such.
But, if there is an adapter available for USB-ness, than I am very excited.
I wanted to buy one when they first came out, I was just waiting until they got that

Have to wait until Playbook is officially release.

Flash support is great, but honestly, nowaday sites are very much compatible with iOS devices that does not support Flash.

It really depends on your usage habit I suppose.

What do you mean for movies and such? Like playing movie off your external harddrives?

If so, you can do that through WIFI. THe USB-adapter only supports cameras so far.

Like what?

Personally, I would love for a true stylus support. I know they have stylus out for iPads, but its mostly for artistic usage. I want not only the hardware but software (think OneNote) support for note taking.

A variety of things that aren't going to happen anytime soon:

Wireless syncing
An Accessible File System
No Need for iTunes
USB/SD Slot
Any non-jailbroken alternative to the App store
Better stand (The new one looks better than the last gen one, but I'm still skeptical it'd be easily usable to take notes on a school desk)

If the iPad added those things for $500 I'd be in heaven. The iPad still looks like it'd be a great entertainment device, but I need it to take over the role of my netbook as well if I get it.
