ipods
is anyone particularly adept at working their ipod? mine seems to have gone insane and i want to reboot it, if at all possible.

i have a 2gb nano from about a year and a half ago (i got it christmas of 2005). currently, i can only hold less than 20 songs on it...and i'm talking 4 min or less songs...not long epics or anything.

help?

Try updating the Firmware on it... I'm not sure the exact method of doing it with an iPod (I don't have one), but a quick google search shows that you can do it through iTunes... See if there is an option somewhere in iTunes to reformat or something...

Procedure to reset your ipod:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=6 1705

And yes, do a firmware update as Ron suggested, it will update the software and fix any bugs you may have on it.

Has anyone heard anything about Apple coming out with a new iPod, possibly in the coming couple of months? Because I was told they were coming out with a new generation in September, and I'm holding out on buying one of the current 30gb videos until that happens because the price drop is going to be drastic.

as far as I know its just rumours but seeing as they just released the iphone it might be a while before they put out a new ipod. i have the 30gb video and its awesome. I know people like to rag on ipods all the time but I've never had a problem with my ipods (I had the generation 1 and it still works fine). if they are releasing new ones just be careful that there might be bugs and what not (ie ipod mini disaster)

Haleighfox is right, they are only rumours at the moment. I haven't had a problem with my ipod nano, so I'm happy with ipods atm. But ya, if a new one does come out, I would off for a month from buying it while they work out any bugs.

Outdated link, but still has some cool pictures. Who knows when this thing is going to come out, I do believe it'll happen eventually though.
