Keeping in Touch, with a Mac.
I have a Mac, and I have friends I want to video conference with, who use Windows Live Messenger.
What are my options?
Please and thank you

I have a Mac but I've never used MSN messenger to video chat with friends. I prefer using Skype or Gmail's video chat option because it works for either Windows or Mac and the quality is great.

Skype is blocked in his country so I'm in a bit of a dillemma...
I'm contemplating installing Windows XP on my Mac, but I'm worried what'll happen if the product keys I have aren't genuine.

It's easy to remove the Bootcamp windows partition if it doesn't work out. You may as well give it a try.
Just don't do what I did. 2 days after buying my iMac, I accidentally reformatted my entire hard drive when setting up Bootcamp. That was a headache.

hey i highly highly HIGHLY recommend that both of you acquire a gmail account if you don't have one already. access gmail through your browser (safari, firefox, internet explorer all work great), and it'll ask you to install something quickly the first time you try to video conference, but once you d, it's the most seamless utility for video conferencing. it all happens within your browser, so it doesn't use much memory, and the quality of video and sound are absolutely amazing.
i've them all. skype, yahoo, aol, everything! the only thing better is ichat, which unfortunately is not compatible with windows.
so remember: GMAIL is the way to go!! lol

Use Adium: http://adium.im/
I have never used it because I don't use a Mac though. So I'm not sure what all the features are and if you can use video calling.
Oh, I just found something on Adium: http://www.adiumxtras.com/index.php?...xtr a_id=4959
If you are using Windows, Digsby is a similar application: http://www.digsby.com/
