If google really wanted to help people they could just donate 100 million. We are talking about google here. This is just publicity grabbing on googles part. Which I think actually exploits the people who need help. Im so tired of these lame excuses for companies and celebrities to promote their products and themselves while exploiting serious causes, issues and people.

Chrome sucks. Get that extension to be compatible with FireFox and you have my support.

EDIT: But that's cause I have a few tabs open all the time. But I agree with everyone here - if Google really wanted to help, they'd just donate instead of trying to find an excuse to market Chrome.

Depending on the OS it's either

Chrome > FF > IE >>>>>> Giving up on the internet > Safari

or

Safari > Chrome > FF

Seriously, it's like apple purposefully programs horrible software for Windows (also see iTunes and Quicktime), they obviously have good programmers but all their windows software manages to suck compared to it's OSX counterparts :(

Unless you use one of the few FF extensions that still doesn't have a Chrome equivalent or you've customized FF to the point where you simply can't use Chrome in anywhere near the same way, Chrome is a better browser, for multiple reasons. There's a big reason that FF 4 is basically copying as many things as possible from Chrome.

That's why I don't consider participating in this to be charity, in and of itself.

You are enabling others to perform charity, it's like saying someone piloting a plane filled with medicine and doctors to Haiti isn't actively engaged in charity because he isn't directly doing the work to help others.

If you find pleasure in deterring others with your words, i feel bad for you, because your mocking their action so you can feel better about your inaction.
