Go to http://residence.mcmaster.ca and log in to the residence portal. Check your application status. It should say which room you are in under 'Room Reservation Details'.
EDIT: They just sent me this email:
Residence Assignments are now available. In order to view your assignment, you must upload your photo (for returning students with a picture on file – this step isn't necessary).
Select the Photo Upload step and upload a recent photo.
Once your photo has been uploaded, click on the Application Status step; your room and roommate(s) will be noted here.
Contact your roommate(s) (if applicable) through the portal – to ensure your privacy, no email addresses are released. Include your email address in your message so your new roommate(s) can easily contact you.

Pretty sweet, you'll either be facing the football field or get a nice nature view facing cootes. 6th floor also gets higher ceilings then other floors because we're on top. It makes the room actually look bigger and less confined.

I've heard a few times that you don't make as many friends as you would in other buildings because everyone has their own bathroom? Is that true?

Ive heard that a bunch of times before, I dont really believe it. if you're outgoing you'll meet people plain and simple. There will be A TON of opprotunities to meet people through school, welcome week, rez events etc, even if you're more on the shy side.
There is also a common room on each floor where everyone can hang out and watch tv etc, I'm sure you'll meet plenty of people.
I also read on a couple of threads that they turn off the air conditioning in early October. Does it get hot on the 2nd floor? Do I need to bring a fan?

Not so sure on the dates, I do know that the system isnt like a light switch, they cant keep switching back and forth. Once they go from AC to heating it will be because they aren't expecting any more warm days until the spring. Typcially the higher up floors are warmer as heat rises and I've also heard the rooms that face the field can be warmer as the sun hits that side of the building most of the day. If you want to bring a fan go for it but its your call.
