Silver speaks the truth. I lived in Keyes this past year and the majority of students living in my residence were in Health Science.

About Health Sci's taking the majority of LP and Keyes residences, from the previous year I know this to be true. I think Mac did used to have a system where higher averages guaranteed you your first choice and Health Sci, having such a high admission average, had many of its students in these residences.
However, I've heard from a couple different people that this system is changing this year to make it more of a lottery system. No idea if it's true but if it is hopefully things will work out for you!

they said it was changed last year and was random for everyone without certain needs but keyes and lp were still majority healthsci. too much favouritism for health sci at this school. already the easiest program and they get the best residences lmao.

Meh. I feel I need to chime in on this one.
Sure, health scis are favoured, but lets not forget that they also tend to do better than people in other programs in the same courses. So take nothing away from them when it comes down to that.
As for why they're favoured, well lets be honest - it's the 'star' program of Mac. Seriously, aside from PBL, then Mac would be nothing without Health Sci's reputation as a program - it would just be another Lakehead. So I can see why the university cares a lot about the program and the people in it.

they do well in courses like 1st year chem compared to life scis because they have no other midterms. when the chem midterms/exam comes, life scis have other midterms and tests to study for also. health scis only have this one test to study for. also, when you have 1-2 exams during the exam period, you better get 90+ on those exams. other programs do not have that luxury of only studying 1-2 courses in december and april.
