level 2 Chem eng. Dropping elective
Hey guys,

I am currently in level 2 of chem Eng. for which i am supposed to have 36 units altogether.

However I am planning on dropping one elective (Cultural Studies) and probably do something else over the summer, leaving me with 33 units.

Is having 33 units acceptable and is there a problem with taking electives in the summer?

I have tried emailing J. Hopkins, but she away until the 16th!

I would greatly appreciate and advice

John

No, i don't think there will be any problems, since the electives are not a prerequisite to any of your third year courses lol...that being said, you can drop that elective. (even if it was a prerequisite to a third year course, you can still drop it and take it in the summer , provided it is offered in the spring/summer)
seriously john, ur dropping an elective over 2z03...

I did all my nontechnical electives in summer school and just had the required courses for each year and I haven't had any problems. It really doesn't matter what order you take courses in (aside from prerequisite requirements), when you take them, or where you take them (school year/summer), as long as you get everything for your graduation requirements done before you apply to graduate.

At the very least, I know this is true of ChemEng...I cannot speak for other departments or faculties.

In conclusion, you're good.
