Transfer credit for Level II elective courses
Hi there!

I am a new undergraduate for Fall, 2009. I got the offer of software engineering, and my case is a little particular because I got transferred some credits and I will directly enter Engineering Level II this September.

Recently, when I checked my final notification of transfer credit granted, I just found out the Admissions Team had helped me transfer 43 units, which included four elective courses worth 12 units in total.

The student calendar shows for Engineering Level I Programs it needs 37 units. So actually when I enter Software Engineering Level II, I still got 6 spare transferred units, for two elective courses.

My question is, is it fine for me to use these 6 units (two elective courses) for my Level II course selection, which means I do not need to select any elective courses via SOLAR this time?

If you'd like to, sure. It will help you as you do not need to take elective units and can spend more time on your other courses.

Mac doesn't care when you complete your classes (i.e. you could take more courses this year and overload so you can take fewer in your following year), so long as you've got all of the ones you need to graduate.

However, you may also want to take three or six units this year so you can alleviate the stress of more courses in your final year...
