The entrance scholarship isn't renewable so you definitely won't be getting that one and most, if not all, other scholarships require an application.
So basically, I don't think you'll be getting any scholarship money.

Going through all the available application scholarships, there are actually only 10-15 you can apply for, the majority are based on grades and you are automatically entered, no application needed. But McMaster's scholarship fund is basically a piggy bank filled with loose change, so don't expect anything.

It's not a scholarship, but it's definitely worthwhile applying for the McMaster bursary next year. The application is really simple too!

When I had a high 10 to 11 average I ended up getting $800 on top of whatever entrance scholarship I had.

A few years ago, entrance scholarships were renewable. All you had to do was maintain a 9.5 GPA. Unfortunately, due to the recession, scholarships are no longer renewable.
Those who entered before 2008 could retain their entrance scholarships every year. Those entering in 2008 could renew only once. Since 2009, all entrance scholarships are non-renewable.

This link is quite useful:
http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...nt/pg1169.html
Scroll down and view the scholarships for each faculty. You can also see which scholarships require applications.

I KNEW I READ SOMETHING ABOUT SCHOLARSHIPS WITH A 9.5 GPA! So they're discontinued!
I was wondering about that, because I thought that you got one but then I read that you couldn't and I was wondering how I could have misread something like that.

I believe the non-application ones are given out based on either sessional average or cumulative average
