Looking for a tennis partner
I'm a grad student at mac looking to get back into playing tennis.

I'm an intermediate player (would rank myself at about a 2.5-3.5, but that may not be a very accurate estimate as I haven't played in years).

If anyone is interested in meeting up for some rallying, let me know.

Hah, I was basing that number on some Canadian self rating guide, where even just trying to play will give you a solid 1. Just have to work your way up from there.

I used to be really into Tennis and was kind of decent. I haven't played since I started university though (2008? lol). I'd be up for rallying or whatever though.

I'd be interested come September if you're still around. I've been itching to play during the school year but none of my friends know how. Based on that rating system I'm at 4.0-5.0. Still gotta work on that serve though....

There's a few clubs nearby, the closest few being the Ancaster Tennis Club, Dundas Tennis Club and the Hamilton Tennis Club. I hit at the Ancaster one because it's the cheapest, $40 for students.

I'm in Hamilton all summer and have been wanting to play again, but have no friends who play. I play at Victoria Park now and then. I'm decent but definitely not great. Hit me up if you're interested.

Glad to see that there's some interest. There's a public court in Little John Park, it's a little out of the way for most people, but that does mean that there's rarely anyone there. $40 for access to well maintained courts is quite good too though; I'll have to look into that.

I used to be really into tennis too but I haven't played in about 3 years, mostly because I don't have a group of friends who do play. I'd love to have some motivation to get back into it and meet some new friends. I'd say I rank about 1 out of 10--I was never "good". But it was fun.

I won't be around campus until the winter term starts though, and I don't think many people would be playing then if we/you find an outdoor court.

Hi
I'll be in Mac this fall and am also looking for a tennis partner. I had a few lessons four years ago and recently started wanting to play again. I'm a beginner (2 out of 10). I would also be willing to get a membership at one of the cheaper clubs if anyone is willing to play throughout the year. I hear that the indoor court at Mac is really hard to book. Please message me if interested!

Hi,
I have a very similar story to a lot of you...was really into tennis but kind of stopped playing about a year and a half ago. I would love to pick it back up again. If we could find a decent outdoor court for the fall that would be really cool.

^To answer that last question...no there aren't any courts at Mac (anymore). I believe the outdoor courts they had are now a parking lot?

Ya, the outdoor courts were transformed into a parking lot years ago. There are some grey concrete "courts" setup next to Hedden with nets. But that's no good to play on. The other "courts" in DBAC aren't an appropriate surface for tennis.

Hey!

I'm down for playing tennis! My goal is to play on the McMaster varsity team but I still need lots of practice to get to that level! I live in Stoney Creek and I play at a free outdoor court (Valley Park, Upper Stoney Creek). There are 4 outdoor hardcourts. If anyone is interested to have a hit, let me know
