Mac Email on Blackberry 10 devices
Hey there,
I just got the new blackberry z10, and have been trying to get my mcmaster email on for days. I used all of the old information ( via IMAP setup ) but it is not working. I keep getting a message saying that this information is old or doesnt work. Any help would be appreciated as I keep forgetting to check it online! I have posted the imformation I keep using below:
The settings for the email client are shown below.
Account type: IMAP
Incoming server: mcmasterimap.mcmaster .ca
Outgoing server: mcmastersmtp.mcmaster .ca
SSL encryption for both incoming and outgoing servers turned on.
Incoming port 993
Outgoing port 465
Outgoing server to require authentication using the same credentials as the incoming server.

Hi Claire,
I just tried on my Z10 and it worked easily. Do you have IMAP enabled in your Mac (gmail) settings > IMAP tab?

Ah, I see. Fair enough. I rather prefer a Nexus 4 over the Z10 myself even though I don't own either device *sad face*.

Time to do an upgrade. XD . I must say, the z10 is interesting. I hope they update the software & hardware in the future to be more competitive

I know..I have the Google Nexus S (unfortunately). The Z10 apparently has similar components to the SIII or so this article says:

I do love my Z10 to be quite honest. I'm sure there are better things out there but I loved blackberry for BBM and I still have the people I talk to most on BBM so I still am loving it. It's def a step up frm my old curve.. but it has everything I need on my phone and I wouldn't want more.

So you go to Accounts > Add Account > Email, Calendar and Contancts.
Enter your full mac email: [email protected] -> next
Enter your password -> next
Enter the Display Name: abc
Then press done and it gives you this error?
http://btsc.webapps.blackber ry.com...st HelperImpl
That link suggests your carrier could be a problem, did you try this on Wifi or are you already on Wifi?

I'm having the same problem. Just got the Z10 today, and can't seem to get the McMaster IMAP setup to work.
Followed the instructions here: http://mcmaster.ca/uts/gmailforstudents/imapsetup.html
I'm getting the same " Your login information for IMAP server [mcmasterimap.mcmaster .ca] has changed or is incorrect. Please check your account seetings."
Something that may be relevant: when I try to login to McMaster Student Email the first attempt always fails and claims that it's the wrong MacID or password. The second attempt with the exact same information always works.

Well I emailed University Technology Services (UTS) and their response was:
"Unfortunately this is not available at this time for the Z10. We are working on resolving this issue and hope to have it fixed shortly"
So, I guess we're stuck for now. I wonder why some people got it to work but not others.
Seems like other users are having similar issues
The bizarre thing is that the blackberry validation service (here) claims that the McMaster settings should work!
