Hi Stephanie!
http://www.macinsiders.com/faq.php
Quote:
HOW TO TURN OFF E-MAILS ABOUT NEW REPLIES TO THREADS
Issue: I keep getting lots of emails about replies to the forum that I don't want to get sent anymore!
Reason: You currently have automatic thread email subscriptions turned on.
Threads in a forum allow you to 'subscribe' via email for updates. You can see all your thread subscriptions in your account settings here.
You have a 'global' default setting for all threads that you reply to, and you may have set yours to automatically subscribe you to any thread that you add a reply on. To alter this default setting for all new threads that you reply to go HERE and then you'll see "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and turn that to "Do not subscribe".
If you come across a thread that you really do want email updates every time there is a new reply then look at the top of the page under the "Similar Threads" box and you'll see a "THREAD TOOLS" dropdown you can click on. Click it, then click on the option that pops up called "Subscribe to this thread".

no problemo Stephanie!
So you're going to want to go to your settings here and then check off all the ones you're already subscribed to and at the bottom where it says "Selected Threads", click that dropdown and choose "No email notification" under "Update subscription type"

Are the e-mails pertaining to threads or pms?

I use the "New Unread Post" feature to see if there are any new posts... I can't be bothered with thousands of e-mails from MacInsiders telling me about threads.

They're about threads -- ones that I've posted in. Not every one, however. It's very inconsistent! I've gone to my settings and unselected every email option available! Lol! I've even gone and made sure that every thread I've posted in has the subscription box "unticked" (using Chad's instructions)
I'm baffled! I don't want updates!

So when you go to "My Settings and Privacy" you have "No E-mail Notification" under "Default Thread Subscription Mode"?
