I think the idea behind the Blackberry Tour was to make a phone for business consumers who travel a lot to various locations around the world because of their job.

Yup. I don't see any way that you could get it to work.

Definitely.... or if you're wealthy and just want to use a single phone when you're summering in Europe

there is nothing special. It looks like your going to get a deal.. but your really not. They still have all those stupid fee's in there. Its the same deal you'd get anywhere else. Don't be fooled by decieving sales people.

If it's triband (I forgot to mention that in my last post)/GSM I don't see why not.

You can check the specs of the phone online, usually under network. 1900 is for North America if I'm not mistaken. My sister actually had a Nokia N73, she was able to use it with a prepaid SIM card.

I just bought an iPhone. If I may pass on a little good fortune I stumbled across which might help you score a deal:
In the Rogers contract, there is a line on the bottom of the first page that explains that you can cancel the contract and return the phone for a 100% refund (even if slightly used) if you do so within 15 days or 30 minutes of airtime, whichever comes first. The sales rep also explained this to me when I bought the phone/contract.
About 3 days after signing up with Rogers, I realized I wanted to switch to Fido for various reasons, so I decided to exercise this option.
When i called Rogers to cancel, the customer service rep told me I was OK to cancel, as I hadn't exceeded 30 minutes, but first she would have to transfer me to the cancellation department (this is actually the "retentions" department, where staff have an inventory of offers they can use to tempt customers into staying. You usually end up here at the END of your contract, not the beginning).
The retention guy said it was no problem to cancel, but may I ask why. I explained that Fido had no system access fee, and I liked their plans better, etc. As soon as I finished explaining, he said he knew Fido had good deals, and proceeded to throw a $15/month credit at me because they "value their customers and want me to stay".
I now have a $15 discount, every month, for the next 3 years on my plan. Thats a lot more than I would have saved by switching too. Sweeet! I couldnt believe my luck. I later found out on a website that there are people that do this deliberately. You should see some of the deals they score.. this was nothing.
PS: iPhone 3Gs = sick!

*speechless, that's pretty awesome! Good job! It makes sense for them to try their best not to lose their clients though. But I don't understand why we have to be cancelling the contract to be abel to get a good deal, why can't it be a ood deal in the first place =/.
PS-We should all do this, haha .

They only do it to keep customers. Otherwise they wouldn't make as much money as they do.

what really irritates me is that even with their corporate plans or student plans they throw in the system acces fee and some other up ur butt fee and adding taxes basically takes u back to square 1 and the consmer ends overpaying for his plan. Grrrr....

AHhhhhhh, Thank you! Soooo true. That stupid system access fee itself, can be like $8 at some companies :(. Totally defeats the purpose of having "dicount" plans >.<. I seriously haven't seen a phone plan that's "fit" for a student, yet.

Ya I can't wait for WIND mobile and other companies to start coming out with better deals, that alone in itself is great but it will force other companies to make their deals better and it will be a lot easier to negotiate a better deals with current users. Win-win for all, I hope the hype is as good as it sounds.
