MACCESS Portal Launch - Jan 22

On January 22nd 2009, 11am-2:30pm in the MUSC Marketplace you are invited to join in the official launch of the MACCESS Portal! We first announced MACCESS back in November 2008 when a soft launch was under way and a great contest was held to get feedback from students. John Alley (Director, Project Management Office) talked with students on our MacInsiders forum and responded to questions.

MACCESS is an online portal that brings many McMaster services into one places. These include MUGSI, Library, Timetable, Email, SOLAR, Meal Plan, Course Calendar, Athletics, Campus Life, MAC ID, and more.

Now it's time for MACCESS to officially launch.Join us for a hot chocolate and learn more about the new portal website on Thursday to see what all the hype is about!

firefox is a massive resource hog on the mac, and maccess would be the only site i'd ever check... and it just isn't even worth it.

safari would just be nicer

I really don't understand the fascination with MACCESS. It's just a bunch of shortcut links to MUGSI pages / other pages - nothing new and revolutionary was done. I'm really disappointed, actually - I was led to believe that they were completely overhauling access to student information - instead I got an iframe and some bookmarks.

Also - the HTML looks like it was coded in 1997... who are these people?

I posted this to the Maccess discussion board.

I'm just wondering why Safari/Chrome/Opera are not supported.

What's wrong? Does the frame not load?

I just can't help but feel that even though you guys have obviously spent a lot of time on this (kudos), but you've neglected standards compliance.

And, sorry to keep repeating it, but you really shouldn't be using for non-tabular content or
