i took 2 course this past summer and received an average of 11. This year im only taking 9 courses and im not sure if ill make deans list. The courses i took during the summer were to make up for the two courses i was missing from first year. Do those courses get included into my first year courses or ar they part of my second year courses?

they will be considered as a part of your first year courses since the summer is considered semester 3 and 4 usually

If you wanna get deans honour this year, and you don't have 30 units worth of courses right now, you'll need to take another one in the summer.

just to confirm, if i take an additional credit in the summer i will be able to get on the deans list?

My experience has been that those course will count towards Deans List. I did essentially the same thing last year, and I got on the Dean's List. Regardless of what year/term they are considered part of, you took them between 'review periods' (begin and end in April), so they'll count for this year's review.

If you're really concerned about it, though, I would ask your faculty. Probably the academic advisor could tell you.
