Haha, I'm a lot older than your average first year. Thanks for making me feel young again though

So finding a summer job has been really difficult for a lot of people but I think a lot of it has to do with how people approach job hunting so here's two quick tips.

Tip #1: Don't base your search entirely online. If you really want a job, make a phone call or better yet hand in your resume in person. I once read somewhere that employers are more likely to be interested in your resume if they've heard from you.

Tip #2: You don't need to wait for an employer to advertise a position. For example if you are really interested in working for an environmental group it might be a good idea to e-mail or call some groups and explain that you are interested. Often times they will tell you about upcoming opportunities or create positions for you. Sometimes the position will end up being a volunteer position but experience is experience.

Technically it's not 7 years til Sept 30th, at which point I'll have quit, unless they transfer me to Niagara. Pretty sure thats not happening though. I'm gonna lose my extra week of vacation :(

Awww, that's okay. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to come back anytime though! And it's always good to explore other options
