Where's the less than 5 option?

Although, around wintertime... I pretty much lose all ability to sleep for a few days at a time, and then I can pass out from really anywhere to 12-22 hours.

I tend to sleep 5-7 hours, depending on when I finally manage to fall asleep. I need something or someone to wake me up, though, or I can literally sleep for more than a day. This is most likely because I am a diagnosed insomniac and take some pretty heavy-duty medication. If I don't have my meds, I just don't sleep, and I can usually stay up for 2-3 days before I start to lose it a bit.

Woah!

That really isn't healthy!

Is that because of all the work? Or just ... insomnia? =[

For me it's usually around 7, and it's enough for me to be well-rested and also not too sleepy after I wake up. And hey, I'm not complaining after the 4-6 hrs a day in high school DX

I think it's some type of insomnia. It hits me in the winter.

Trust me, it's not like I don't try to sleep. :(

Oh boy ... That hits me in the summer! But thatz probably cuz I get into a habit of sleeping late and that just spirals into me staying up late playing games or just watching some shows till like 3-4 in the morning ... and then yea ... just messes up my circadian rhythms

If he has a regular schedule of 4 hours every night, then his body is used to it. Thus, when he breaks the cycle, it's hard on his body.

At least that's how I understand/experience it.

I'm averaging 3 to 4, 2 sometimes when I have nothing better to do.
Yes, I feel fine when I wake up, and I work out, study, great grades, etc.

Funny thing is though studies now show that people who sleep LESS than 8 hours a night live longer. While also being awake longer, thus experiencing more. Win\Win Situations!

Yea but to get into that cycle is pretty difficult in the first place.

Also the human body isn't designed to be efficient at such low resting periods

its true about people who sleep less than eight hours living longer, but people who get under six don't live as long. so i guess the ideal is 6-8, but who really knows. in 2 years there will probably be a different study showing people who get 1 hour of sleep a night live the longest.
