How many hours to you need to get in order to feel refreshed until bed time the next day?

I'm just curious because I sleep A LOT. I'm wondering how I compare with others.
I usually need 8-9 hours to feel totally refreshed. If I sleep less than 5 hours, I get huge headaches. It really sucks during exam time :(

6 hours of sleep is the perfect amount for me. I can do with a little less or a little more but as long as I get 6 I am guaranteed a good day.

It's quality over quantity...

It's been shown that sleeping for 12 hours from 1am-1pm is not as refreshing as sleeping 6 hours from 11am to 5am.

If you're finding it difficult to sleep, or that your sleep isn't restful, consider 'shifting back' your biological clock so you sleep at 10 or 11pm. It worked wonders for me when I was in 1st year (but I haven't done it in later years), I woke up at 5am every day like clockwork.
