Math 1LS3
I think this course was very easy. We started at a very basic level (probably grade 9 math) with the linear equation and moved up from there. The last unit, integration, was the only major new thing but it wasn't too bad.

Your mark was the better of :

4 tests, lowest...

Ye Sarah, i'll see you in class LOL

It's gonna be a smaller size because there is only one core term 2 and like 3 cores term 1.

Vectors wasn't hard it was easy actually just booooring haha...i liked the flying problems though pretty easy haha...the calculus section was easy though each new section was pretty much more derivatives easy peasy lemon squeezy

I agree! It really was, but I felt like I wasn't in math anymore :S. I liked the velocity section and the flying problems, omg those were so much fun, haha. The calculus section was a lot easier to understand, especially with so much derivatives, I hope next year it'll be as easy!

Haha yes...the vectors section kept changing into different things like getting into three dimensions and doing intersection of lines...and like I said it wasn't hard just kinda boring haha...and wow did I love derivatives I probably missed a good 30 days of that class/didnt do much work and still ended up with one of the highest marks hehe.

DO ALL the practice tests and assignments, there were questions straight out of it on the test. This class starts off as jokes, but keep up with the assignment and class questions to do really well, especially since they throw in integration at the very end. The people in the math help center were amazing, they will acutally teach you the concept and it will be crystal clear.

That said, the textbook was ok in then begining. but honestly not very usefull overall. some of the practice questions were good but the way it is written is hard to follow.

This class is legit not really about intense calculus math, more like models, graph and equations and such. You can do really well

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could scan me the solutions pages to the sample exam in the 2009/2010 custom courseware, my courseware is missing all pages with the sample exam :(

I'm sorry to have to ask this but with exams coming up and my marks not too high...:(

There's a sample exam in the courseware? I don't see it anywhere :S

Maybe they did before? 'cause I bought mine from Titles, so it's not like someone could've taken it out, and I still don't see it :S.

I have to say that this course isn't the joke that the other reviewers have made it out to be. Granted, the concepts aren't all that challenging, but I don't think it's super easy to get an amazing mark. This is mostly because it's difficult to complete the tests within one hour and also because it's easy to make little mistakes and part-marks are hard to come by. Also, the exam wasn't terribly difficult, but there were a couple questions where I found myself completely stuck. Overall, if you do all the assignments in the courseware, you should be fairly prepared for the tests. Unfortunately, I got a mark that was much lower than what I expected, but even still I did enjoy the class. If math is your strong suit, you shouldn't have any problems.
