Math 1LS3
I think this course was very easy. We started at a very basic level (probably grade 9 math) with the linear equation and moved up from there. The last unit, integration, was the only major new thing but it wasn't too bad.
Your mark was the better of :
4 tests, lowest...

How useful are the tutorials? And there's nothing about vectors right?

I found that the tutorials were very helpful since you could e-mail the prof questions ahead of time and he'd take them up in class. I found that they helped solidify the concepts and I attended all of them. Also, you are correct -- there are indeed NO vectors in this course.

This was one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. IF you did well or even average in high school math, you are gonna do so well in this class. This math was almost a joke at some points. I was thinking, are we really doing this? Like really? LOL
Dr. Loveric has to be one of the best prof's I've had in university. He actually made math (a subject I don't like very much) enjoyable and easier to understand than my high school teachers did.

I really liked this course, I had it last Fall and it was taught by Mclean - amazing teacher, his jokes are really cheesy but he's a great prof and kinda funny once you get his sense of humor. The exam & tests were fairly easy and he's always avaliable to help

I was looking up medical school recommended courses and some require a full year of math. Would I be able to take 1AS3 in first year and 1AT3 in second year?

You would really have to contact the specific school that you are applying to. Most of the time it's just "general" math but sometime they actually want something specific.

I do not have grade 12 calculus but completed grade 12 advanced functions and introductory calculus (mark of 75%). Would it be a good idea to take math 1F03 before taking 1LS3, or should I just take 1LS3?
-Thank you

You have to take math F03 first before you take LS3 - that's what I had to do, because I didn't have a grade 12 calculus - I only had advanced functions.

Oh, my bad - actually, apparently this year they've changed it - you can take Ls3 with just advanced functions? But personally, I would've been TOTALLY LOST without taking F03 first -- in my advanced functions class, we didn't even TOUCH UPON calculus.. Ls3 is decently hard if you have no idea about derivitives & stuff. I'd definately recommend taking F03 first, the prof is great.

Is it okay to buy a used copy of the courseware from the year before? Does the content change from year to year?

So the textbook is not needed to get a 12 in this course? Is the textbook in one of the libraries somewhere? (and if so, where?) I am debating between buying this thing or not... I got the courseware already.

Only the prof can tell you how much the courseware changes.
In terms of the textbook, it's totally unnecessary, there were enough practise problems in the courseware.
