Single is actually a little smaller. Most places (ikea) do not distingush between the two. If you buy twin sheets they will fit fine, they just won't be as tight as singles would.

I was wondering about power outlets in our room...I was planning on bringing a laptop, printer and alarm clock...plus there's already the desk lamp in the room...so I guess my question is how many power outlets are in the room

I couldn't tell you exactly since I never lived in Matthews, but there are often are 6-8 outlets (as in, single receptacles) in each room in the older buildings (like Matthews). Definitely bring a power bar, and I would strongly suggest extension cords as well, since there will invariably be a place you want to put something that has an outlet nowhere near it :p

Everyone gets their own closet space.
Very few beds are captains beds. I was lucky last year and got one, but I don't know of anyone else with them. I still had my own closet.

On the res application website my bed space is listed as matth211a, does this mean my room number is 211, or that it's on the 2nd floor, room #11? If it is the former, how can I determine which floor it is?

Second floor, room 211.

And you are in the first bedspace.

The letters beside your room number (A, B, C) refer to which bed is yours. Most of the time, the telephones will be labelled with these letters and the one with your letter on it is the desk you use. Therefore, the adjacent bed is yours.

When I moved in the phones were not labelled and I lived in a triple, so even though I was listed as "B" it was impossible to tell which one was which... so I just took the one I wanted
