So, I was just wondering if someone could help me with this problem:

I want to UNLINK my hotmail and mcmaster e-mail completely. I don't want my mcmaster e-mails to go to my hotmail account. I want to keep them in my mcmaster account. anyone have any ideas?

The little gear in the right corner -> Settings -> Forwarding -> Disable Forwarding -> Save Changes

Well everything is disabled including forwarding POP and IMAP and the system just refuses to oblige.

Its possible it might take a day or two to take effect, but I would find that very strange for a company like google..

That might be it. I'll wait and see what happens.

Sign in again. Right after it says that, it should bring you back to the original sign-in page. Just sign in again and it should work. It does for me, anyway.
