So my mcmaster email account says that it is full, so I tried deleting some email messages but even when I delete them they are still in my inbox with just an 'X' beside it and my account is still full. How do I clear up some space? I don't think I am receiving any more emails because of this and I can't send any either...

Mark the boxes again and press "Purge Deleted"

You shoud link your mcmaster email to your personal email so that all emails received will go to your personal email inbox for more storage space.
