I got a letter from McMaster a few days ago but I just opened the letter today and enclosed is the McMaster student ID card and your registration confirmation. I'm guessing they were all mailed so you should be receiving yours in the next few days. Hope that answered your question!

I'm guessing you need to complete the payment agreement first before you receive the ID.

does anyone know how the id works with titles as a charge card? Does it just go to our student account? My parents wanted to pay for my books online. Can they do that if I do it that way?

In order to pay using your student card you have to sign up at Titles. Unfortunately I don't really know what the procedure is. But if you go into the main bookstore someone can help you.
And as for your parents paying for your stuff online...I think that can be done, yes. Because I've paid with credit every year I'm not really sure what can and can't be done. But if you contact Student Cashiers they can let you know.

When you make your first textbook purchase on the card, the people at Titles will set it up for you. It's not a big process or anything, they just enable it on the card. You'll have until sometime in October to pay off the balance before interest starts accumulating. Just like tuition and anything else on your student account, balances can be paid through online banking using your student # as the account number.
Hope this helps.

Do we have to make our purchases on our student card or can we use some other method?

You can pay stuff on your student card online
you can pay for books any old way. I don't know if Titles takes diner's club though :p

If we do decide to use our student card as a charge card (to buy books and whatnot)
how do we pay it off? or do we just pay it off online?

Where can you get the picture for the student card taken? At the registrar's office?

Yes, not sure if you still can. I believe they had the cameras set up for welcome day but I'm not sure if they would still be up. They take a lot of space on the desks.
