McWork Vacation Time?
Just curious if anyone here has gotten a job through McWork, is there any vacation time over the summer? Thanks!

I wouldn't really call it a vacation but a number of jobs may require you to work a certain number of weeks only. It really depends on the summer job you get but they would let you know if they only need you to work a specific period of time.

I know a lot of the jobs I applied for end like one to two weeks before school starts (Plus we start on the 10th this year). So... I guess that's part of it, hehe.

But yeah, as mentioned, some jobs are only 10 hours a week or two months long instead of four.

The one I got is 35 hours a week for four months and the contract runs into Sept. I was hoping for at least 5 days, even if not paid! Hopefully someone has more information!

Holiday/Vacation time is up to your employer, so you'd have to ask them about time off.

Your employer should tell you that kind of stuff when you fill out the forms, like when you give them your social security number and void cheque and all that. If they don't tell you, that's a good time to ask.

I have a McWork job. I won't get "vacation days". I work Monday to Friday, and "vacation pay" is included in each pay cheque. Since it's a summer job, I doubt you'll get vacation days.

My employer told me that some people like to take time off - the day before a long weekend or something like that. She said if that's the case, we just make up the time at the end of the summer (since there is about a week left before school starts). If you have specific time you want off, talk to your employer. I'm sure they're pretty nice about it.
