Meeting the conditional offer - help!!
So my conditional offer required a final grade of 80%
im standing at a 79.4% as of now
is Mac super strict on the conditional thing, i mean it's only .6 of a percent?
what is the best course of action for me to take right now?

edit: i have spoken to the administration at my school, they are unwilling to change my mark

Mac is super strict. What I recommend is to go to the teacher that likes you the most, and ask them for a 1-2% bump. Explain the necessity of their action.

if ouac doesnt already have your grades you can try begging for bumps like the person above said... but if the marks are already entered thats not a good sign

From an engineering student standpoint, Mac is very strict with conditional offer. My friend was sick for his final exam and he didn't make it. McMaster pulled his offer.

If the marks are to OUAC you still have hope. Beg, and I mean kiss ass to appeal to your teacher in hopes of them "finding a calculation error" in your grade, and re-submitting to OUAC.

This however, greatly works on your ethics as a person. I don't think I would be incorrect in saying that most would change a grade to get into University, if they needed to.

Well, apparently not at mac. If you can't get your teachers to change a grade at all, then look elsewhere. Apply to a different University? Go to college for a year? Work for a year?

There is no way Mac will look at your application, see you missed by.6% and feel sorry for you. I am not being a hard-ass, its just the system. They get thousands of applications every year, and use their formulas and straight numbers to determine who's in and who's out. No exceptions.

as far as I know unless you can convince one of your teachers to bump up your mark your offer will be rescinded, mac is super strict about conditional offers
and mac does not accept summer school credits from the summer before entering so I do hope one of your teachers will be kind enough to bump up your mark
good luck

There is one thing you can do.

Do a summer school course to bump up your mark or an online course. And once your completed call the registrar or the head of the department your going into and ask them to re evaluate your application.

Thats the only chance you have. Hopefully there will be spots available and you will get in then.

Summer school is 2 weeks i believe?

i called in today, and they told me i could take summer school to upgrade, but my spot wouldnt be 100% guaranteed
has anyone been in a similar situation before? is it likely that i'll be able to keep my spot?

The first time i applied i was in a similar position except i had to finish 2 courses so it took the whole month and they weren't considering application anymore after that. It all depends on how many people are applying this year.

I went to college that year and figured i would try again to mac, i was denied by 0.5% . which is a ***** but i simply did an online course and they reevaluated my application and i got it that time.

You got nothing to lose by trying? Keep in mind that even if you go to college or another uni this year, when you apply to this program again next year, they will look at your high school marks. Unless its a transfer.
