So that's why there's always this guy on the bus that smells like piss and shit. He doesn't care what we think of him, good for him! Who cares if he makes other people puke their guts out, he feels empowered!!!!

Also I need to learn how to "grow courage". Any advice?
Stop being so PC and start speaking your mind instead of being afraid. Courage grown AND harvested. Mad yields.

I have auditory processing issues and legitimately cannot hear the professor if someone is even whispering in my immediate vicinity. A whole lecture hall full of people doing it is awful. I don't hesitate to call people out for it and usually get the profs support if there is any bad attitude afterward.
Often a gentle reminder that we're paying a minimum of $35/hour for these courses shuts them up for a while.

So you call people out, and then hide behind a prof if others tell you off. you must be very popular in your lectures

No, I don't *hide* behind the prof. I stand up in front of the lecture hall at break or at the end of the lecture, tell people to either shut up or not come to class and the prof vocally agrees. I don't care if I'm popular with people who are wasting my time and my money by talking through an entire lecture - in my opinion they shouldn't be there if they can't at the very least be respectful of other people wanting to learn.

To the OP, I would suggest speaking to the prof before or after class if the issue persists. You don't need to "grow courage" that way, and the noisemakers will respect the professor's say-so or risk being shamed out of the room. If it's a big class, kindly remind them that you're not paying to listen to their chatter.

Closing this rant thread now.
