What are the most under-appreciated bands in your opinion? If they did just one good songs they count too.

I don't know if you can consider Bon Iver as a "band", but IMO I think he's one of the most underrated artists of the last 5 years.

Guster, John Butler Trio, Wilco, Dispatch, Eels, Blind Melon, Rilo Kiley. I consider a lot of Canadian artists like Matt Mays, Sam Roberts, the Arkells and even the Hip to be criminally underrated outside of Canada as well.

I think I'll add Fountains of Wayne to the list, they had one hit in early 2000s, but never got recognition after that.

Totally agree, all their albums are awesome! I feel like their whole career got overshadowed by one of their weaker songs, IMO.

As far as progressive metal goes, I'm quite fond of Haken and Myrath. They've got some good stuff (which at least I don't think is that well known?).

Yeah but that's just one song, and the only reason people like it is because of wacky semi-sexual lyrics and music video full of innuendos.

How many people know of songs like "Summer Place" and "Someone to Love"?

I wonder if They Might Be Giants count as real band, they write songs with joke lyrics but their tune is always catchy.

I would not say it was a bad song they got popular by, but they have definitly better songs, I really wonder why they didnt have more success, especially with that breakthrough they had
