Hi everyone, so recently I've been experiencing log in issues with MSN. Every time I type in my username and pass and click sign in, it lags for 2 minutes. Today I tried logging in and the screen froze at the sign in.

I uninstalled messenger plus and windows live messenger and i tried to redownload it but it wouldn't work. the installing wizard would just stay at the "progress" screen...

I have windows 7 64 bit, btw.

Had the same problem a few months ago.

Some solutions you can follow:

- Download the latest WLM version availible at Get.Live.com
- Check for updates for Windows
- Go to "C:\Program Files\Windows Live" and remove "Messenger" folder (note: replace "C" with your root drive letter)
- Go to "CrogramData" (note: replace "C" with your root drive letter) and delete both Windows Live Installer and WLInstaller if you have any
- Restart PC
- Run the installer

If you are still unable to get Messenger work, we recommend you to download a registry cleaner to fix your errors and speed up your computer.

Oh thats cause its a hidden file. To view it:
While in Windows Explorer click Organize (right under the back/forward buttons. Then click 'Folder and search options', click the 'view' tab, then check the radio button that says 'show hidden files, folders and drives'.

it is probably hiding from u (not a joke)

i 4get teh exact route.. but open the start menu and type "hidden".. one of ur first options should be to show hidden folders... (do at ur own risk.. these folders are hidden because messing wit some of their content might hurt ur pc)

Ya your right. There hidden for good reason. So once you've checked to see if the folders are there I suggest your revert back to making them hidden again.

Use REVO to install it, and reinstall it.

People still use msn?

MI is lagged.

So if your still having this problem you can just sign into your hotmail, msn, or live account and on the left hand side it will show MESSANGER ... you can use messanger through that, it's like the messanger in facebook, if you've used that.

Erm so I deleted the files you told me to and it still is stuck on the preparing installer page...
