I suggest u look into other programs that you might be interested in and have an aptitude for. Science is not for the faint of heart and if you're in life science just to be a doctor, you should not be in this program.

This person probably did really bad in his/her first year...just ignore this and try to look forward to the rest of your undergrad. Nobody said that you
must finish your undergrad in 4 years, right? I mean, if you're doing poorly now just forget about it; you still have 3.5 years left to go.
I was in life sci last year and have done quite poorly, compared to my usual high school standard. Nevertheless, I've been enjoying my second year a lot more than last year mostly due to the fact that I'm actually taking courses that I wanted to take. Hence, if you wish to be in biology programme for next year, well, there is still a very high chance that you will
not do horribly in 3rd and 4th year as this poster suggested because perhaps bio is your forte and not chem.
My advice is to you is to stop worrying about whether or not you'll fail chem, and just try to study your butt off for the exam (i.e do A LOT of practice problems).:cheerleade r:
