I wouldn't consider classics 1b03 to be "easy" ..there are 3 novels to read, and a ton of hero/god names as well as myths to remember, and we had an essay worth 40% and a final exam worth 40% .. it's definitely a fun course, though. and if you have Dr. Murgatroyd, you'll love it.
I took history 1bb3 and hated it, but I can't blame the course for that, I'm just not a big history buff. again, exam was worth 40% and we had to do weekly readings for tutorials, at which the TA would go around the table and ask us each to tell him what we thought was most interesting about the readings and the more specific you were, the more participation marks you got..
but near the end of the term, when I had more important assignments to worry about, history readings just werent a priority anymore, and in order to avoid the embarrassment of having to tell a class of 20 people why i didnt do the readings, I just stopped going to tutorial altogether.. most people did..
as for religion, I took religous studies 1j03 - great books in asian religions taught by Dr. Larose, and loved it. The material was very interesting, and the prof was great.. no slides or anything, he just talked and had class discussions in lecture but i kinda liked that.. it was a good change from the usual boring monotone profs. There were weekly readings for the class, some short, some long, 1 novel, 1 long poem
