It's working fine for me. Are you sure you're using the right browser (as specified on the login page)?

Hey I have a quick question. What is the chance for an individual to actually get a job through OSCAR?

Like any job, it depends how many people they're hiring and how many people apply. OSCAR is only for Mac students, but posts job opportunities available to the general public as well. Your chances for a job on campus that only Mac students can apply to is probably better than for a job available to the public, but it entirely depends on how many people apply. It can't hurt to try, though.

I've applied to so many jobs on OSCAR that I've lost count. Only a few of them contacted me and only 2 led to interviews..but one is now my current job and it's great. So don't give up! There are also some good volunteer opportunities posted, which could lead to jobs in the future.

applications for this past summer was brutal. i heard from my prof that he got a couple of hundred applications for each research position he offered. i think for 1st yrs, depends what you are looking for, a research job may not be realistic since you'll have alot of competition from upperyears (research volunteering if definitely possible). but you might have a chance with clerical/entry positions.

The one thing I noticed from this past summer, that you should be careful about because it may hold true for all positions, is that the closing date is not necessarily the deadline. If the employer finds a suitable person after a week, then they won't necessarily wait a month before hiring them. The job will still remain on OSCAR, even though the position has been filled. This was mostly for science/lab jobs, but it might hold true for others too. Apply ASAP

are you fully registered full time?
(at least I *think* you have to be full time to use Oscar, not sure)

If you haven't confirmed your payment agreement, then you're not considered 'fully registered', so that might be why you can't get in.
