YAY! A Eureka and Stargate fan. Sadly SG: Universe got cancelled.
Why didn't you include SG:SG-1 and SG: Atlantis too? Those two focus more on exploration and adventure instead of the melodrama SG: Universe has.
Only because he mentioned that he wants to focus on newer shows. I've seen every stargate episode from SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe. I liked Universe for its darker, battlestar galactica-esque vibe.

I can vouch for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Everyone I've recommended it to have liked it.

Not sure if you are a computer nerd.
If so, The IT Crowd (The British version) should bring up some laughter.
The show centered around the misfit of two IT guys working under a manager that have zero clue about technology and computer.
British humor is pretty funny.

i watched eureka and i was wishy washy about it. It was a good story line with an interesting setting jabber jabber but it took too long to develop/have anything interesting happen
Burn Notice is great, Jericho is great, Dexter is amazing

Battlestar Galatica - an amazing television series, save for a couple of episodes in the 3rd and 4th seasons. The first two seasons are amazing.
Frasier is probably one of my favourite sitcom shows.
I've only watched one episode so far, but The West Wing seems to be really promising, and its also won some emmy's apparently so I guess its good.
I also thought I'd never be recommending a show like this, mainly because I've never really been into anime, but Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was a surprisingly good show. You can find all the episodes YouTube under Funimation's channel, there is about 50. Most are dubbed in english but I preferred listening to the Japanese voices.
