The contract for the director of human resources is almost up so he's trying to save the university as much money as possible in order to save his job. Thats why we are being plagued with strike threats.

He also once said that no one over 50 should be working at Mac.

I won't support or not support the strike until I know more details (ie. I fully supported the custodial strike threat last year, but not the TA strike the year before). I wonder how people on residence will eat or if they will be issued refunds on their meal plans?

Just a quick heads up,

It looks like as if the strike will happen.

A simple explanation is that at 6:00am Tomorrow (Friday) morning the hospitality workers at McMaster will be going on strike.

The HSR and GO busses will not come on campus, and neither will most other unionized employees from outside the university. You will still be able to eat at Centro (Commons Building), East Meets West Bistro (Mary Keyes Residence), My Mini Mac (Mary Keyes Residence), Tim Hortons (University Centre), Williams Cafe (Faculty of Health Sciences) and IAHS Café (Institute for Applied Health Services Building).

The Phoenix, Twelve-Eighty, the University Club, cafeterias located in the McMaster University Medical Centre and food service operations at the Downtown Centre and Ron Joyce Centre will also remain open
