Of course, it was probably one of the Union's New Year Resolutions to prevent on-campus students from having a decent term start for once.

They will be running at an alternate location. Last time it was at Main and Emerson. As a commuter I hate strikes as the HSR doesn't even pick GOOD off campus locations to drop you off at. Plus you know the fact that the lineups will be crazy at the few places open.

LOL it'd be clever if this was all PLANNED because it was some kind of agreement with fortinos...they'd make a lot more if the strike happened...then 40 people in the kitchen trying to make their instant noodles, cook their pasta, bake their cookies and chop their salad.

Both of those two organizations are unionized.
Usually in situations like at McMaster other unionized organizations (like HSR, GO) won't enter the campus to show solidarity to other unions who are on strike. Its just to show support.
Also, assuming they (McMaster Hospitality services who are ready to go on strike) will be picketing at the main entrances, it will be a real ***** to get inside campus while maintaining the bus schedule as well, so they'll create these new drop off locations to maintain there schedule.

Wow, this is bullshit (the bus routes), if I'm reading it correctly.

Does that mean only one bus (1A) will actually go into campus (in front of the hospital, nonetheless, obviously to piss everyone off)?

I don't even see how this 'strike' affects people living/eating on-campus... from what I'm reading it looks like because of the retarded bus route changes + lack of stops, people off campus are dicked.

The 1A can go on campus because its actually entering the Hospital, not McMaster University. There's a law or something like that, that you can't block access to a hospital.

It quite clearly does affect those living on campus as well. I would hate to see how busy the few places open will be during the day.

Tim Hortons lines are already long enough... christ...

Man, this is going to suck. Stupid unions and stupid people opposing them. Everyone is stupid and I hate them all :(

Last year they stopped across the street on Main street at one of the HSR stops...can't remember which one exactly. And the drop off was across the hospital.
