Although this strike seems to be affecting people who live on campus the strongest (duh)
is anyone on this forum a commuter like me? I have 8:30 am class tomorrow morning and have no idea how long to give myself to wait in the line of cars to park on campus..

Depends on how early you show up.. cars get lined up all the way to that pita pit at the end of sterling... they let in 3 cars every like..5 minutes I think. I would say go at least 45 minutes early if you're going to arrive 8:20am, but then again, Mondays are the busiest.

I wouldn't even bother parking at Mac, to be honest.. find somewhere nearby, and walk for 10-20 mins, haha.

Does 1280 take the mealcard? I've been wondering for a while whether 1280 or Phoenix takes it 'cause I've been wanting to try them out. I'm not talking about the flex account, though. Do they take the basic?

As far as I know neither take the basic portion.

1280 I believe takes the Freedom account portion, or at least it did when it was Quarters.

The Pheonix to my knowledge does not take any portion of the student card.

Awwww, what about the Pita Pit? Do they take the basic account? The food choices right now are really limited on campus.

Go to University Plaza, park, and take the 5E over to the University

Best part about this is you get to see them do their "shark dance"

Just watch that and picture some sort of sign being held in hands or strap around neck.

But yea seriously, they (the strikers) don't even try to spread their message.

Cars just end up being delayed and drivers get pissed. Would be better if they try to get people to understand why they are striking or such by taking the opportunity to talk to them.

If they haven't said anything about ending the strike then it's a safe bet that they will be continuing to strike.

i havent seen any protesting food services workers near the MAIN at EMERSON entrance. I only see those orange cones and the parking guys now and then. Shouldn't they be blocking both entrances?

PROTEST FAIL imo.

Seriously, people, park underground. It took me like 7 minutes to get into the main entrance of the hospital today and about 10 minutes to walk from the underground (up the elevator, 2nd floor, down yellow stairs) to the Student Center. Not a big deal.

They can't picket at that entrance since they'd be blocking off the hospital entry/exit routes
