That's a very big "may"... as of right now, this is not confirmed and until there's real evidence I'm not going to worry about it.
You would think that since the advent of cellphones, the number of brain cancer patients would increase exponentially (if they caused cancer), but they aren't.

I don't know how comfortable I am with wireless waves carrying enough energy to power a whole machine passing through me at any given moment.
Then again; pretty much everything these days can cause cancer :p
On that note; I for one welcome our future wirelessly powered robot overlords!

You do know that light waves carry more energy than radio waves right? So, holding a cellphone near your head MAY cause cancer, then being in the same room as a light bulb would have the same potential. As far as I know, light bulbs don't cause cancer

In most cases, the reporters don't have any science background and don't actually read the publications. The whole scare with Nalgenes and PBA was kind of silly. I believe the study was based on rats and the plastic was exposed to harsh chemicals and high heat, obviously chemicals will leech. But, I don't know of anyone who subjects their waterbottles to that kind of treatment xD
