Is it ok to have a tutorial before the core?
For an example if I have Soc Psy 1z03 T03 on Monday morning and have Soc Psy 1z03 C01 on Monday evening. How about different days like the tutorial on Monday and Lecture/Core on Tuesday???

I have this conflict with social science and humanity courses (1st year)

Ex: Psy courses and classics

Tutorials dont start until usually week 3 of classes. Therefore the material covered in tutorial will generally have already started to be taught in lectures. I have rarely had times where a tutorial has covered concepts that havent at least been introduced in class. So you should be fine in this tutorial!

Ever says thanks to Chris23 for this post.

The material on the Tutorials will be from the previous week of lectures, so its ok.

What John said. Your TA will usually only cover stuff that has already been covered in class. Tutorials are for clarifying material and going further in depth rather than lectures which are for teaching new material.

If you didn't notice Chris23, a lot of people do it. I'm assuming they just read the first post, and give their response/reply because they:

a) don't care about the other posts in the thread
b) don't have the time to read through all the other posts in the thread prior to posting themselves
c) all of the above

I had a tutorial before a core last year, and I hated it to be honest. It may have just been my TA but it was really a pain.

Sometimes having multiple posts convey the same idea just reinforces it. Let's the person asking know there is a general consensus rather than just the thoughts of a single individual. My reasoning anyway.

Lol, chill guys. Just a forum and we're going a bit off topic here. Let's just say we all did our best to help out a fellow Mac student and leave it at that

Multiple posts on a thread shouldn't really be a problem as long as they answer the question and aren't "Yup 12 char". Even if they are, it's important to remember that most of these posters are first years and are looking for reassurance. The more answers, the greater the consensus and the more reassured they feel. Really not a big deal.

Yes. It's fine, tutorials don't start until a few weeks into the semester so you will already have some content that has been covered, you will never be expected to go into a tutorial not having learned anything previously.

Yay I upped my post count, but really.. does anyone even give a shit about their post count? I think the majority of people just post to be helpful and don't read past the first the post. It shouldn't really bother anyone as long as SOMETHING is contributed.
