do you think its a good idea to do tutorial after core?

I think so. You've just learned something in lecture and now you're going to see how it all comes together with some questions.

I'm not sure if you're talking about tutorial after a core for the same class, but if you are, I think a regular exposure to the content you're learning is sometimes more efficient than irregularity. For example, if you were to study for a test for an hour every day rather cram it the day before, you'll likely retain the information a lot better. Plus, you'll probably get bored of whatever you're learning after the lecture, and you might not pay attention as much in the tutorial.

The question is very vague. What course are you talking about? Generally though, there's really no downside to it. However, it depends on the way you learn as you might get bored of learning the same material for the same class for 2+ hours.
