I'm not doing summer school, but I really don't want to fall behind, and would like to maybe start looking at the notes and familiarizing myself with a bit of the material. Thanks.
I tried doing this same thing before and it didn't work. Truthfully, I wouldn't be that worried. I know I'm getting ahead of myself because we haven't had a midterm yet. However, I bombed first-year chem and even I know what's going on and it's not crazy difficult. The best way I can describe this course is that all of the concepts themselves aren't hard, but taken together, there is lots going on. You just need to wrap your mind around everything, become familiar with the material with practice, etc.

Faer says thanks to _Mike for this post.

That's a relief to hear, though the last line makes me all afraid again. XD It's just, orgo involves a lot of memorization, and if we have new mechanisms and stuff, I'd rather (try) to look at them beforehand.

Thanks, though...I'm glad that it's not too bad!

I see what you're saying, but truthfully, the notes only make sense to me after the lecture, haha. Plus, the more challenging topics, like chirality, are difficult without a model kit and attending lecture.

There are SO many reactions that you need to know, memorization alone won't get you very far. Understanding them is the key
