I logged onto my osap thing today to see that they updarted my entitlement and im being given 1700 less money. I dont know what this 'canada student loan' business is. and i certainly havent seen any $5,402 magically show up in my pockets. Does anyone know why this is any why im being given less money? and where is that 5402 right now???? I don't have a student loan!

The 5402$ is probably at McMaster waiting to be picked up by you.

OSAP isn't free money. It's a Student Loan that you have to pay off when you graduate.

Yes I understand that, but my tuition has already been paid, and I payed the downpayment on my res... so i own mcmaster for the rest of my room (~4000 since im in a bunk and loft) and also for my meal plan (~3000).

I don't think they'd change my "entitlement" if it was waiting at mac for me.

also, wouldn't it be a "ontario student loan" not a "canadian student loan"??? its OSAP... ONTARIO student assistance program

Did they change your entitlement or did they go from estimate to entitlement? Because there is a big difference.

Yes while it is Ontario. It is a federal and provincial program
