P.Eng - Name on Certificate?
Not sure if anyone here has gone through the Professional Engineer license application process yet, but I was wondering if they let you choose your name on the certificate.

PEO only recognizes the legal name written on the citizenship card, and mine doesn't include my english name. My other government IDs have my english name, but PEO doesn't accept them. I obviously wish to include my english name on my certificate as I'm working in Canada.

I hope someone has experience with this.

It's only your legal name. PEO is the organization that handles P.Eng so it's the same rules.

You could get your name legally changed to your English name? Or legally changed to "Englishname NotEnglishname Middlename(s) Surname" although changing your name is kind of a pain in the ass.

If you want to use your English name, just do a legal name change and have all your IDs match up. It will continue to give you problem later on when all your IDs have mismatch names. Don't make yourself look like a terrorist or a spy.

Yea, I think I'll have to do a name change.

Every other certification organization I've dealt with accepts driver's licenses or passports, but for some reason PEO only accepts the citizenship card.
